Coach nicol has been involved in competitive swimming and water polo since 1993. Starting in 1997 she has coached developmental, age group, high school, college, and masters swimming. She is a certified coach with USA Swimming, United States Masters Swimming, and the American Swimming Coaches Association. She is also a member of the International Philosophers of Sport, a group of philosophers who share, peer-review, and publish academic papers related to sports; coach nicol specializes in ethics of youth sports including identity development of competitive athletes.
